The city of Odesa has received humanitarian aid in the form of two new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter microbuses from its sister city, Regensburg. 

These vehicles will be assigned to territorial social service centers and will be utilized in the «Social Taxi» service. 

The microbuses are already adapted for transporting individuals with disabilities but require additional equipment for safely transporting wheelchair users. 

The «Social Taxi» initiative is being implemented by the Odesa City Council in partnership with the NGO «Barrier-Free», ensuring specialized transportation for individuals with disabilities to various facilities. 

Currently, Odesa has 6 specialized vehicles in operation, and the service is in high demand, with over 1200 applications processed. The microbuses provided by Regensburg will enable an increase in transport capacity and expand the service's capabilities. 

Odesa's Mayor, Hennadii Trukhanov, expressed gratitude to Regensburg: «These are not just vehicles; they provide people with disabilities a chance to access necessary services comfortably and feel more independent».
