At the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) in Rome, Odesa's mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov, held a meeting with Italy's Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, to discuss future collaboration.

Alessandro Giuli visited Odesa in August 2023, marking the beginning of a new phase in restoring cultural sites, particularly the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral.

The third phase of the project is currently underway, focusing on creating educational programs in restoration and heritage preservation with Italy's support.

During the meeting, the initiative to create a new park — «Italy» in Odesa was also discussed, which will symbolize the partnership between the two countries. The Italian Minister of Culture expressed his support for this idea.

Gennadiy Trukhanov thanked Alessandro Giuli for his continuous attention and support for Odesa.

"Our collaboration is not just about restoring sites, but also about revitalizing identity and trust," — the mayor stated.
