A New Perspective on War: A Documentary Film about Soldiers
Premiere of a unique documentary film showcasing the realities of military life.
Last weekend, municipal workers discovered broken glass at the sarcophagus housing the ancient Greek exhibit on Primorsky Boulevard in Odessa.
Odessa's Deputy Mayor Anna Poznyakova believes that it is most likely the work of vandals.
«Someone decided to “have some fun” and left us with shards of triplex glass, scratched stainless steel, and a bill for expensive repairs», – she wrote on her Facebook page.
Currently, the municipal services have covered the dome with plastic, but restoring the broken glass will take a long time since the sarcophagus is made to special order from thick glass (1 cm). It must be specially tempered and meet many other requirements.
“At a time when every penny goes to support the front and critical infrastructure, unnecessary expenses due to someone’s irresponsibility are a luxury the city cannot afford. Primorsky is a symbol of Odessa, a place of strength for both residents and guests. Let’s not destroy what we create together”, – noted Anna Pozdnyakova.
It is worth reminding that under the dome of Primorsky Boulevard are the remains of a Greek settlement from the 6th to 5th centuries BC, which were excavated by archaeologists in 2008 and arranged as a museum exhibit.
The viewing pyramid of the mini-museum has repeatedly been the target of vandalism: the latest incident occurred in the winter of 2016. Additionally, from time to time, some of our fellow citizens litter the mini-museum's exhibits with scraps of paper and other trash.
