Law enforcement agencies are actively enhancing children's awareness of safety in educational institutions, public spaces, and online. Topics include cybercrime, mine safety, harmful habits, and preventing children's involvement in illegal activities.

Recently, representatives of the National Police and the State Emergency Service visited the Konoplyanska community, where they held safety classes for students in a mobile classroom.

The officers discussed road safety rules with the children, emphasizing the importance of being cautious near roads and using reflective elements in the dark to ensure pedestrian safety.

The topic of mine safety was also raised, where children learned about different types of explosive devices and the rules of conduct when discovering them. The students watched a video that helped them understand that dangerous items can be both visible and hidden among everyday objects. They were advised not to touch such items and to immediately inform adults, including calling the emergency services at 101 or the police at 102.

«The children actively participated in the quizzes we prepared. It was delightful to see how knowledgeable and responsive they were, knowing how to behave in different situations», - noted juvenile prevention inspector Natalia Ship.

In the Fontanskaya, Pivdenna, Velykodalnytska, and Vyhodianska communities of the Odesa district, juvenile police officers held classes on digital and legal literacy in lyceums.

«We emphasized the importance of using official sources to verify information, avoiding websites with questionable content, and being cautious on social media since they may require access to personal data. It is also crucial to be careful with strangers and to immediately report any suspicious offers, especially regarding easy money, to parents and police, while taking screenshots of the conversation», - added senior juvenile prevention inspector Yulia Isaeva.

The police also reminded teenagers that individuals over 16 are subject to administrative and criminal liability, while for certain crimes, liability begins at 14. Younger offenders are not overlooked either; they are subject to corrective measures.

Such preventive measures with children are being conducted in all districts of Odesa region.
