Autumn Festival in Odesa: Music, Creativity, and Support
An autumn festival took place in Odesa, combining music, creativity, and support for families with children with disabilities.
At the Odesa Genocide Museum, an event was held in collaboration with the Odesa Center for Professional Development of Educators, focusing on the theme «Babi Yar – Tragedy of the Second World War».
This event, aimed at social studies teachers in Odesa, addressed crucial aspects of teaching Holocaust and genocide topics, as well as the necessity of preserving historical memory.
The discussion was opened by the director of the National Historical and Cultural Preserve «Babi Yar», Roza Tapanova, who emphasized that understanding the tragedy of Babi Yar is extremely important for Ukraine and the global community.
Pavlo Kozlenko, a PhD in Philosophy and head of the «Odesa Center for Holocaust Studies» NGO, highlighted the key role of teachers in shaping the historical consciousness of youth and combating intolerance.
The discussion focused on practical aspects of working with sensitive topics in the educational environment. Participants exchanged experiences in implementing museum pedagogy and educational work in historical and civic areas.
Teachers from Odesa Lyceums No. 56, 62, and the Law Lyceum presented successful practices for working with children on preserving the memory of WWII and Holocaust victims.
Participants actively shared challenges they face and received valuable advice on integrating Holocaust topics into the educational process during wartime conditions.
