A Day of Joy: Odessa Police Host Fun Event for Kids at the Zoo
Odessa juvenile police organized a delightful event for children at the zoo, focusing on joy, safety, and mutual respect ahead of Independence Day.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with the National Eco-Naturalist Center for Students, held the super final of the National Championship in Information Technology “Ecosoft” online.
Based on the championship results, the Ukrainian team was formed for the international contest of computer projects INFOMATRIX-2024, which will take place from May 31 to June 4, 2024, in Bucharest, Romania.
Eight students from Odessa Lyceum No. 65 represented the city, presenting their projects in various fields, including programming, computer animation, 3D modeling, and short films. This was the debut competition for all participants.
The lyceum students received one first-degree diploma, two second-degree diplomas, and three third-degree diplomas.
The winners who will represent Ukraine at the international contest are:
- Yegor Bovkun, a 10th grader with a 3D project titled “Model of the First Helicopter in the World”;
- Ruslan Masko and Ivan Zmievsky, 8th graders with the film “The Meaning of Life and My Place in It”.
The students received assistance in preparing their projects from computer science teachers Oleg Pustovoyt and Alla Omelchenko at Odessa Lyceum No. 65.

This year, the students from Odessa Lyceum No. 65 set a record by representing Ukraine internationally for the eighth consecutive time. The unique experience of the lyceum since 2016 has been beneficial for organizing national events. Teachers and alumni were among the organizers and judges of the championship. The youngest judge was 11th grader Julia Butuk, while teacher Oleg Pustovoyt was appointed as one of the curators for preparing the team for the international final.
