Discussion on collaboration between Odesa and Venice focusing on cultural heritage preservation and tourism development.
The educational system of Ukraine is undergoing significant transformations to meet modern challenges and societal needs. Developing practical skills among students has become crucial, enabling them to effectively protect themselves, their families, and their country.
As a result, the reform of the subject 'Defending Ukraine' is ongoing.
Initiated by the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council, a working meeting was held at Odesa Lyceum No. 1 named after A.P. Bystrina, focusing on the establishment and functioning of teaching centers for the subject 'Defending Ukraine' in community-owned secondary educational institutions of Odesa.
The meeting involved heads of secondary educational institutions, teachers of the subject 'Defending Ukraine', representatives of public and veteran organizations, members of the Odesa City Council, and members of the Coordination Council for National-Patriotic Education.
During the meeting, issues concerning the establishment and operation of teaching centers for 'Defending Ukraine', efficient use of available resources, and enhancement of organizational work for the subject in light of current challenges were discussed.
Participants were introduced to recommendations for setting up the mentioned centers, developed by the 'Renewal of the 'Defending Ukraine' program project office, supported by the 'Partnership for a Strong Ukraine' fund, and guidelines for establishing centers for teaching the subject 'Defending Ukraine' in educational institutions.
