Recovery Efforts at Odesa Lyceum: New Challenges Ahead

During a recent massive drone strike, Odesa Lyceum No. 125, currently attended by around 500 students, sustained severe damage.

In total, 120 windows (700 m²) were shattered across 30 classrooms, along with 30 doors being damaged, and partial harm to heating systems and electrical networks.

30 classrooms suffered ceiling damage, and 100 desks and 200 chairs were effectively destroyed. Thankfully, there were no casualties.

«Restoration work on the heating system is currently underway. The kindergarten will resume operations on Monday, November 11. For the next week, students will participate in remote learning, and starting November 18, they will return to classes in two shifts in the less damaged parts of the school. The restoration of the most severely affected area of the building is planned to be completed between November and January,» stated Elena Buinevich, the head of the city’s Department of Education and Science.
