Building a Safer Tomorrow: Teaching Kids Safety Basics

As part of a collaborative project between the National Police of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service, supported by UNICEF, a mobile safety class visited 4th and 5th graders at Odessa Lyceum No. 71.

The main focus of the event was fire and mine safety. During the meeting, representatives from the SES informed the children about the importance of following safety rules in dangerous situations.

The students had the chance to learn how to prevent fires, what actions to take in case of a fire, identify potentially explosive items, and the algorithm for responding to suspicious or dangerous objects.

The event was conducted in an interactive format; students not only listened to experts but also engaged in practical exercises, viewed visual examples, and asked questions.

Such educational initiatives help cultivate a culture of safety among children and equip them with the skills to react properly in critical situations.
