Ukrainian Students Shine at INFOMATRIX-2025 International Competition

From May 22 to 26, 2025, Bucharest (Romania) hosted the finals of the International Computer Projects Competition INFOMATRIX-2025. This year, 400 students from 20 countries participated, showcasing 350 projects.

The Ukrainian team, comprising 21 finalists from Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Volyn, actively competed.

Participants competed in five categories: “Programming,” “Computer Art,” “Hardware Management,” “Short Film,” and “Hackathon.” Projects were evaluated along with their presentations in English. The projects were showcased in designated areas, while the Hackathon teams competed in specially equipped rooms.

As a result of the competition, the Ukrainian team earned 5 bronze, 5 silver, 2 gold, and 2 platinum medals.

Students from Odesa also contributed significantly to these achievements.

Specifically, the platinum medal was awarded to 11th grader Yegor Bovkun from Odesa Lyceum No. 65 for his project “Architectural History of Churches in Ukraine,” supervised by informatics teacher Oleg Pustovoyt.

The gold medal went to student Agata Ignatova from the Odesa Youth Technicians Station “Sigma” for her project “Guardians of a Sustainable Future,” guided by mentors Oksana Kostenko and Hanna Momotyuk.

The bronze medal was received by 8th grader Taisia Tostohan from Odesa Lyceum No. 65 for her team project “ProDreams – in Action!”, supervised by informatics teacher Alla Omelchenko.
