Odessa Children Return to School Amid Security Concerns
Odessa's students begin the school year with a focus on safety and new regulations.
Educational institutions in Odesa are finding innovative solutions for their energy supply. The full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine since early 2022 has severely damaged parts of the energy infrastructure, leading to unstable electricity supply for many state and municipal facilities.
In light of frequent blackouts, solar power stations have become a critical alternative for ensuring a stable energy supply.
With the support of the Lithuanian solar energy company UAB Okata, a project is underway to install solar power stations at Odesa's lyceums No. 86, 81, 9, 62, 92, and preschool institution “Yasla-Sadok” No. 195.
This project guarantees complete energy independence for these educational institutions, allowing them to continue educational and developmental activities even during power outages.
Additionally, utilizing solar energy will significantly reduce budget expenditures on energy resources.
Amid constant attacks on the energy system, the installation of solar power stations is a crucial step toward promoting clean energy sources.
In the Odesa region, UAB Okata is actively developing the solar power station installation project, which is fundamental to achieving energy independence and a safer future. The implementation began in August 2023 following an agreement with the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania. The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Odesa and Odesa region coordinates the project.
