Open Basketball Tournament in Odesa

On September 12-13, 2025, Odesa hosted the 30th basketball tournament dedicated to the memory of the renowned coach Yosyp Keselman. The event took place at the sports complex of the B.D. Litvak Specialized Children and Youth Sports School for girls born in 2012 and younger.

Five teams from southern Ukraine participated in the competition. This year, teams such as the “Crazy Jellyfish,” “Mad Shrimp,” and “Swallows” from the B.D. Litvak Sports School, along with teams from SDYUSSHOR No. 4 in Mykolaiv and the local Youth Basketball Club “YUG Basket,” competed.

The winners of the tournament were the “Jellyfish” team from the B.D. Litvak Sports School (coach – Yuliya Hladchenko).

The tournament continued on September 14 in a 3x3 format. At the Starobazarny Square, the girls participated in the 21st Open Cup of the Odesa Regional Basketball Federation, dedicated to the Day of Physical Culture and Sports, in the U-15 category.

In addition to the teams competing in the 5x5 format, rivals from Izmail, Tatarbunary, and Chornomorsk joined, totaling 9 teams.

The girls from the Hot wheels Italy team celebrated victory in this tournament, representing the hosts – the B.D. Litvak Sports School.

The tournament was organized by the Charity Fund “Support and Development of Youth and Women’s Basketball named after I.Ya. Keselman” with the support of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Odesa City Council, the Odesa Regional Basketball Federation, the Odesa City Basketball Federation, the B.D. Litvak Sports School, and the pharmaceutical company “InterChem.”
