Child Road Safety Initiatives in Odessa

In Odessa, the Road Safety Month titled «Attention! Children on the Road!» has commenced.

The primary objective of this initiative is to reduce traffic accidents involving children, cultivate a conscious attitude towards road safety rules, and increase youth awareness of safe behavior on the streets.

In schools across the Peresyp district, classes such as «Follow the Rules – Save Lives» and «Know the Road Signs – Avoid Trouble» have been conducted, allowing students to discuss safe behavior, watch educational videos, and participate in quizzes.

Additionally, exhibitions of children's drawings and creative works themed «Safe Country!», «Attention! Children on the Road!», and «I Am a Pedestrian!» were organized.

Teachers held discussions with students on «My Safe Route to School» and assisted them in developing individual safe travel plans.

Students also had the chance to get acquainted with a police vehicle, reviewing pedestrian rules and solidifying their knowledge through games such as «I Am a Traffic Regulator» and «Road Safety».

Inspectors conveyed the importance of using reflective materials at night and shared tips on crossing roads and using public transport safely.

For preschoolers, thematic lessons titled «Attention! Children on the Road», «Know the Road Signs – Avoid Trouble», and «I Am a Little Pedestrian» were conducted, where children learned the basics of pedestrian behavior and the meanings of traffic signs.
