Digital Veteran ID: New Opportunities

One of the top priorities of the government is the digitalization of services for veterans. The long-awaited electronic veteran ID is now available in the Diia app.

This means that over 1 million veterans can utilize the electronic ID in various everyday situations – from applying for a mortgage to accessing social benefits, without the need to carry a paper version of the document.

The document is available for:
•   war veterans;
•   combatants;
•   individuals with disabilities due to war;
•   participants of the Revolution of Dignity;
•   family members of deceased veterans;
•   family members of deceased defenders of Ukraine.

How to add the veteran ID in Diia:
-   download the Diia app and click «Add Document»;
-   select «Veteran ID» and consent to data retrieval from other registers;
-   click «Add» and wait for the document to appear. This will take a few minutes.

What to do if the document is not found?
This indicates that your information has not been included in the Unified State Register of War Veterans by the issuing authority, according to current legislation.
Check the issuing authority indicated on the paper ID and call the Unified Veteran Line of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs at 0 800 505 217 to report it.

Where to use the e-Veteran ID
It can be used to receive benefits and compensations stipulated by current legislation, including:
-   free public transport;
-   in healthcare institutions;
-   in the education sector;
-   when applying for administrative services at the CNAP;
-   during employment and business registration;
-   for obtaining benefits, assistance, and payments.

The services are implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, supported by the «Diia Support Project» being carried out by the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine with funding from Sweden.
