Night Strike: Latest Updates on Air Assaults

On the night of July 8 to 9, Russia launched a massive air assault, resulting in the registration of 741 air attack assets. The air defense managed to neutralize 718 of them, while the Air Forces recorded hits in four regions and the downing of objects in 14 locations.

From 8:00 PM on July 8, the enemy deployed:

  • 728 strike drones of the Shahed type and various other drones launched from Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Orel, and Millerovo;
  • 7 cruise missiles X-101 and "Iskander-K" from the Engels area of Saratov and Kursk regions;
  • 6 air-launched ballistic missiles X-47M2 "Kinzhal" from the airspace of Lipetsk region.
  • The main target of the attack was the city of Lutsk in the Volyn region.

As of 8:00 AM, preliminary data indicates that the air defense neutralized 718 air threats, with 303 being shot down by fire means, and 415 being location-lost:

  • 296 enemy drones of the Shahed type (and other types) were destroyed, 415 were location-lost due to EW;
  • 7 cruise missiles X-101 and "Iskander-K" were shot down.

Hits from enemy air attack assets were recorded in four locations, as well as the downing of objects in 14 locations.

The attack was successfully repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
