Youth Collaboration on Sustainable Development Goals
Students from Odessa Lyceum No. 90 engage in an international project exploring sustainable development goals in Europe.
Mariluise Beck, a German politician and director of the Centre for Liberal Modernity, was honored with the «ODESSA» award by the mayor of Odessa for her active humanitarian efforts, supporting the citizens of Odessa during wartime, and strengthening international collaboration.
She spearheaded the project for the memorial «Against Forgetting» on Lustdorf Road, a site where over 25,000 people, mainly Jews and Roma, were burned alive in 1941.
Funding of one million euros was secured for its implementation. However, due to the war, the work has been postponed, and the funds redirected to humanitarian needs of the city.
As a result, Odessa received transportation, specialized equipment, generators, medical supplies, and other critically important resources.
The city authorities express gratitude for the support and hope for the resumption of pre-war projects and continued collaboration for Odessa's development.
