Training for Professionals on Early Detection of Developmental Issues in Children

Health and social services representatives from Odessa participated in a training session aimed at early detection of developmental disorders in young children. This training was organized by the Odessa Regional Organization for Medical-Psychological-Pedagogical Assistance "Healthy Society" as part of the project "Resilient Families, Resilient Future," supported by UNICEF.

The primary goal of the training was to further implement developmental screenings and refine the process for identifying family needs and directing them to early intervention services.

Early intervention is a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to support families with children aged from birth to four years who are at risk of or have developmental disorders. Integrating developmental methods into daily life and enhancing the skills of family members helps address identified issues and adapt the child socially.

"Odessa is recognized as a leading city in implementing early intervention services. The collaboration of professionals will improve the health and quality of life for children in need of these services," stated Tatiana Kutas, the UNICEF project coordinator for early intervention.
