During a dispute, a woman stabbed her son with a knife. The offender has been apprehended and preventive measures taken.

The incident occurred a few days ago at the family residence in a locality of the Teplytska community. Law enforcement officials established that a conflict arose between a drunken 50-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son. During the argument, the mother grabbed a kitchen knife and struck the boy in the chest.

The father called for an ambulance. Doctors hospitalized the young man with a penetrating chest wound and lung damage, which led to the development of hemothorax, as reported to the police.

Police seized the weapon from the scene and sent it for forensic examination. The offender was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.

«After gathering sufficient evidence, we informed the suspect of the charge of intentional severe bodily harm, which is dangerous to life at the time of infliction. According to Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the woman faces up to eight years in prison. At our request, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
