Odesa National University named after I.I. Mechnikov has made it to the top ten universities in Ukraine according to the 2024 rankings.

This was reported by the educational information resource «Education.ua».

The leader of higher education remains Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which has topped the list for eight consecutive years.

It is worth noting that in 2023, ONU named after Mechnikov was ranked 8th.

The consolidated ranking of Ukrainian universities in 2024 includes results from 235 higher education institutions.

To compile the overall ranking, data from the most authoritative national education rankings such as «Top-200 Ukraine», «Scopus», and «NMU Contract Score» were used, each employing different evaluation criteria.

Previously, Odesa State Ecological University (ODEKU) ranked 15th among all Ukrainian universities in terms of effectiveness.

At the beginning of 2024, it became known that the Ministry of Education of Ukraine plans to reorganize universities, intending to merge Odesa Ecological University and the Physico-Chemical Institute for Environmental Protection and Human Safety with Odesa National University named after I.I. Mechnikov.
