UNDP Training in Odesa: New Opportunities for Local Communities

The city of Odesa hosted a training session organized by the UNDP team, focusing on the execution of infrastructure projects under the Ukraine Recovery Program.

Over the course of two days, representatives from 15 communities across 6 regions engaged with the UNDP team, gaining valuable insights and answers regarding project implementation in their local areas.

The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, welcomed the participants and organizers, expressing gratitude to the UNDP team for their ongoing collaboration and support for new initiatives.

"Our cooperation started in 2020. I insisted on demonstrating our capacity and openness. We've successfully initiated 5 projects worth over 276 million UAH, and we are currently working on 7 more projects totaling over 813 million UAH, which we hope to complete by the end of 2025," shared Hennadiy Trukhanov.

In Odesa, projects are particularly focused on education and healthcare.
Currently, the reconstruction of School No. 41 and the outpatient clinic of City Hospital No. 8 has been completed, and three more schools are nearing completion.

Additionally, plans are in place for major renovations of two schools, a maternity hospital, and sections of the infectious disease hospital and Hospital No. 1.

These projects are being implemented under co-financing conditions, with local budgets contributing 20%.
