Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Turkey

On Friday, May 30, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha welcomed Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Kyiv. The discussions focused on bilateral relations, the peace process, and the significance of stability in the region.

«Minister Fidan just returned from Moscow and shared his insights. We talked about possible steps to bring peace to Ukraine,» — noted the Foreign Minister.

The ministers particularly emphasized security in the Black Sea.

«The Black Sea must remain a space of peace and free trade,» — stressed Andriy Sybiha.

The diplomats also discussed plans for implementing agreements related to recovery, involving Turkish businesses. Kyiv is looking forward to the Turkish delegation's participation in the recovery conference in Rome in July.

The minister expressed gratitude to Turkey for its support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and the return of Crimea, as well as for the protection of Crimean Tatar rights.

As part of the visit, archival documents from the era of the Ukrainian People's Republic were presented, highlighting the close ties between the two countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine thanks those who assisted in preparing the materials.
